01 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
02 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

→ Marshmallow Layer

03 - 18 Peeps marshmallow chicks or bunnies

→ Dippers

04 - 12 graham crackers, broken into pieces

# Directions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F.
02 - Place the chocolate chips and butter in a 10-inch oven-safe skillet. Put the skillet in the oven for 3–4 minutes, until the chocolate is mostly melted. Remove from oven and gently stir to combine.
03 - Arrange the Peeps marshmallows in a single layer over the melted chocolate, covering the surface completely.
04 - Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 4–6 minutes, until the Peeps are puffed and lightly golden. Watch closely to prevent burning.
05 - Remove from the oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes. Serve immediately with graham cracker pieces for dipping.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • The oven does all the work while you get credit for something festive and fun
  • Its the perfect way to use up those holiday Peeps everyone receives but never quite finishes
  • That moment when you break through the toasted marshmallow into melted chocolate is pure magic
02 -
  • The chocolate stays molten much longer than you expect, so do not worry about it firming up too quickly while serving
  • Peeps puff up dramatically in the oven, so placing them close together actually helps prevent them from spreading too far
03 -
  • A sprinkle of flaky sea salt over the chocolate before adding Peeps creates the most sophisticated sweet and salty contrast
  • If your Peeps are slightly stale from sitting in the pantry, they will actually toast better than fresh ones
