01 - Roast or steam the sweet potato until completely tender. Allow to cool, remove the skin, and cut into chunks.
02 - Combine the prepared sweet potato, milk, sweetener (if using), and vanilla extract in a blender. Process until completely smooth and creamy.
03 - Transfer the blended mixture to a saucepan. Warm gently over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until steaming hot. Avoid boiling to prevent separation.
04 - Pour the hot latte into mugs. Dust with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired. Serve immediately while hot.
