02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder

→ Salad Base

06 - 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
07 - 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
08 - 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
09 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
10 - 1 dill pickle, sliced

→ Sauce

11 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
12 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
13 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
14 - 1 teaspoon white vinegar
15 - 1 teaspoon pickle relish
16 - 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

→ Optional Toppings

17 - 1 avocado, sliced
18 - 4 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
19 - Sesame seeds

# Directions:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook while breaking up the meat until browned and cooked through, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, white vinegar, pickle relish, and smoked paprika until smooth and well combined. Set aside until serving.
03 - Divide chopped lettuce evenly among four serving bowls. Arrange cherry tomatoes, sliced red onion, shredded cheddar cheese, and dill pickle slices on top of the lettuce.
04 - Spoon the cooked ground beef evenly over each salad bowl, distributing the meat across the vegetables and cheese.
05 - Generously drizzle the prepared burger sauce over each bowl. Adjust amount to personal preference.
06 - Top with sliced avocado, crumbled bacon, or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately while beef is still warm.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • All the satisfaction of a juicy burger without the carb heavy bun or the mess of toppings sliding off
  • The homemade sauce comes together in seconds and makes everything taste like a drive thru upgraded
02 -
  • The key is getting some crispy browned bits on the beef—that is where all the flavor lives
  • Let the sauce sit for 5 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together
03 -
  • Use paper towels to blot the cooked beef after draining for even less grease
  • Toast some sesame seeds in a dry pan and sprinkle on top for that seeded bun flavor
